Poster 1 and 2

I am actually quite satisfied with what I have done so far, I wanted this poster to be more of an informational poster where people stop short when they look at it and want to read more.

I manage to show a few friends before the tutorial to get some comments first as I REALLY WANNA ACE THIS MODULE!

Some feeback were that it isn’t suicidal enough. And the pills emphasis made it look more like drug addiction poster instead of a suicide prevention poster. (hmmm, now to come to think about it, it really seems so.

I did not attend my usual tutorial this week because of my NUS STage + NUS CHinese Drama Stage Production called Sun Day. And I did not get as much comments as I usually would.

After consultation with my tutor, The problems were found to be with the positioning of the text, and the words SAVE, the shadow effects for “Your self, Your family Your friend”.(Basically everything)

I personally felt that the idea of suicide (since there’s so many ways to kill yourself cannot be brought across with only one picture, hence the need for several graphics. But some found it too cluttered

But anyway, I decided to work on the theme further and try to think of other ways to bring the idea across.

Another idea strike me! Ha, I thought of making a poster that get viewers to guess how the person die. Cutting of wrist?Over dosage of pills? etc, but the answer is actually depression, loneliness and discrimination etc…

This would be focusing on one graphic instead of having many like my previous one.

Poster in Portrait and Landscape
Poster in Portrait and Landscape

I was choosing between the landscape and the portrait version. Personally, I prefer the landscape one as it’s something different. I got comments from my friends and those who chose the portrait ones commented that it is more of the norm, or landscape stands out more.

Thus, I decided to choose the landscape one!

The final version couldn’t be uploaded despite my repeated attempts. But the link is here:

More blending is done to the poster to make it look more natural.
